There are two types of buildings: Those that have or will have a pest problem, and those free of pests treated by Bugs No More!

Bees & Wasps

Wasp stings are usually a painful experience although some people are highly sensitive. Identification is important for effective control. Wasps often attack home owners when disturbed.

Bees often infest openings in structures or trees. Treatment involves exclusion and spraying until the hive is controlled. Care must be taken due to the aggressive nature of Africanized honey bees. Nest removal is the responsibility of the customer.

Ants & Fire Ants

Ants can be detrimental to human health. Ants in the home are attracted to moisture, sweets, and food residue or grease. Ant identification is critical for effective control. Ant colonies are often located outside the structure. A clean kitchen with no food or grease residue is important.

Fire Ants can destroy electrical motors, etc. and harm people and pets. The fire ant population increases once warm temperatures return. They can be controlled year long but treatment is most effective when the ants are actively feeding. Each colony must be controlled for long lasting effect. The larger the area treated the better the level of control. Spot spraying is used for structures and baits for lawn or small acreage treatment.

Rats and Mice often invade structures when food is readily available and weather conditions are dry or getting colder. These rodents can damage structures, equipment, furniture, etc. through gnawing and contaminate food and carry disease. Disease organisms may be transmitted from rodents to humans through bites, fleas, ticks or mites, or contamination of food or water with rodent’s feces or urine.

Chinch Bugs

Chinch bugs suck the juices from grass leaves during hot, dry weather in open sunny areas of the lawn. The leaves turn brown and remain attached to the root system. Treatment should occur as soon as damage is recognized. Treatment may not be necessary if chinch bug populations are low and the grass is actively growing. Proper irrigation during dry weather conditions is important to prevent excessive damage.

Fleas are common for people who have pets. Pets need to be treated routinely. Effective control requires detailed treatment inside and outside the house including the lawn.

White Grubs

White Grubs are the larvae of June bugs that eat the root systems of warm season grasses. Most damage is done during the fall and spring. Treatment works best when applied during the summer before damage becomes critical.

Spiders are predators and feed on living prey. Spiders in a structure are primarily a nuisance and seldom bite people. Two species are most feared: the brown reclusive and black widow, respectively in photographs. Control of other insects within structures helps eliminate their food supply.

Bed Bugs

Bed Bugs are an increasing problem. Used furniture or travel to infested sites are often a source for infestation. Control requires detailed treatment of all possible hiding places. Symptoms include bites while sleeping with stains on bedding.
